Air Canada is looking for a highly motivated individual to perform receiving, shipping, warehousing, and distribution functions to support Line Maintenance regarding material and tooling. This will include operating motorized equipment and driving motor vehicles for local delivery.
In addition, this employee will participate in the inspection of aircraft and non-aircraft material, tools, parts, and components to ensure they are duly certified in compliance with Transport Canada and company rules, are in an acceptable condition, and meet company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Handle daily audits, shipping, receiving, inspection, distribution, order processing, and out-of-service material, stocking, and updating the enterprise resource planning system accordingly.
- Prepare and ship parts orders to remote bases.
- Coordinate the delivery of grounded aircraft, including customs clearance of parts after hours, when applicable.
- Draft reports concerning actions taken regarding, among other things, obsolete material, return of parts and tooling, or wheel rotation.
- Understand customs regulations and prepare shipping documents.
- Handle dangerous goods shipped by air.
- Monitor and maintain inventory at the proper level and consult the Supply Chain in Canada to be aware of any requirements.
- Have a good knowledge of dangerous goods and hold a qualified DG shipper's qualification in accordance with the current dangerous goods regulations of the International Air Transport Association, the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, and other relevant decision-making bodies.
- Classify, locate, pack, indicate, label, and document dangerous goods (after successfully passing Air Canada's "Dangerous Goods for Shippers" exam).
- Ensure compliance with Air Canada's guidelines and policies at all times while working safely.
- Able to lift loads up to 45 lbs.
- Take initiative while managing workload and priorities.
- Ensure maintenance standards are met in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
- Monitor temperature and humidity levels in storage areas.
- Pick up aircraft parts from Cargo or other brokers and deliver them – on or off airport grounds.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance, tooling, warehousing, and purchasing for an air carrier, an asset
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Motivation to find solutions to parts shortages
- Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Availability to travel, often on short notice
- Availability to stay outside of GRU for several nights to support Line Maintenance as needed
- Ability to come to Canada for training or meetings
- Valid passport without travel restrictions
- Ability to pass security checks and obtain a local pass for restricted airport areas
Employment Conditions:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is made and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas, or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
Language Requirements
Fluency in English and Portuguese, both oral and written. Knowledge of French and other languages is an asset.
