Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major landing gear components for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

The manager is responsible for all operations of a value chain to ensure its performance in terms of delivery, production, efficiency, quality, and health, safety, environment (HSE). Supervises method agents and manufacturing employees in the finishing department (sandblasting, plating, painting, and finishing lapping).

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Delegates tasks and decisions to the team based on their capabilities to foster team engagement and autonomy
  • Guides and helps the team solve problems and make decisions in a simple and effective manner
  • Puts everything in place to ensure the execution of the production plan to meet deliveries
  • Identifies and anticipates problematic situations and obtains help from a resource person to solve the problem (maintenance, quality, HR, etc.)
  • Facilitates necessary changes to adapt to new realities

Production:

  • With the Planning team, track the production plan and adjust as needed to ensure goals are met.
  • Ensure resource availability and optimization to promote labor efficiency
  • Manages labor movements ensuring optimal versatility of manufacturing employees in their sector

Human Resources:

  • Ensures compliance with company rules, procedures, and policies, including the collective agreement
  • Ensures the development of team members' skills according to current processes and policies

Health, Safety, Environment:

  • With HSE teams, ensure awareness and monitor the application of HSE rules and policies in their sector
  • Participates in accident/event investigations
  • Ensures the completion of inspections, analyses, and associated action plans (e.g., 5S, IGP, Ergonomics, OHS, etc.)

Quality:

  • With quality teams, ensure awareness among operators regarding quality (internal and external)
  • Ensure the dynamics and performance of operational problem-solving RPO / 8D
  • Ensure the achievement of quality objectives and performance for their sector (e.g., NC, Retouches, Scrap, Complaints, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Relevant university degree or experience
  • About 10 years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Unionized manufacturing environment
