About the role
165 TONNES REST ON OUR KNOW-HOW.
Safran Landing Systems is a global leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to manufacturing major landing gear components for Airbus models A320, A330 and A350, and the Boeing 787. The site includes state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing and special processes such as heat treatment, shot blasting and surface treatments.
The manager is responsible for all operations of a value chain to ensure performance in delivery, production, efficiency, quality and health, safety and environment (HSE). The manager supervises method engineers or operational programmers and the manufacturing employees within the sector.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Delegate tasks and decisions to the team according to their abilities to foster engagement with team objectives and autonomy.
- Guide and help the team to solve problems and make decisions simply and effectively.
- Put in place everything necessary to ensure execution of the production plan and meet delivery targets.
- Identify and anticipate problematic situations and obtain support from a resource person to resolve issues (maintenance, quality, HR, etc.).
Human resources
- Create and maintain a work environment that encourages engagement, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company rules, procedures and policies including the collective agreement (if necessary, has authority to impose disciplinary measures).
- Ensure effective communication within the team.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE)
- With HSE teams, ensure awareness and enforce HSE rules and policies within the area.
- Encourage reporting of hazards and participation in finding solutions.
- Ensure inspections, analyses and associated action plans are carried out.
Production
- With the Planning team, monitor the production plan and adjust as needed to meet objectives.
- Ensure availability and optimization of resources to improve workforce efficiency.
- Manage workforce movements, ensuring optimal multi-skilling of manufacturing employees in the sector.
Quality
- With quality teams, ensure operator awareness of quality (internal and external).
- Ensure the effectiveness and performance of operational problem resolutions (RPO / 8D).
- Ensure achievement of objectives and quality performance for the sector.
Continuous improvement
Support continuous improvement activities.

About you
Requirements
- Relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
- Approximately 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
