Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major landing gear components for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

The manager is responsible for all operations of a value chain to ensure its performance in terms of delivery, production, efficiency, quality, and health, safety, environment (HSE). They supervise the methods agents or operational programmers and the manufacturing employees of their sector.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Delegates tasks and decisions to the team according to their abilities, in order to foster their commitment to team goals and autonomy
  • Guides and helps the team solve problems and make decisions simply and effectively
  • Puts everything in place to ensure the execution of the production plan to meet deliveries
  • Identifies and anticipates problematic situations and obtains help from a resource person to solve the problem (maintenance, quality, HR, etc.)

Human Resources:

  • Creates and maintains a work climate that fosters commitment, empowerment, and continuous improvement
  • Ensures compliance with company rules, procedures, and policies, including the collective agreement (if necessary, has the authority to impose disciplinary measures)
  • Performs communication and ensures it is effective within the team

Health, Safety, Environment:

  • With the HSE teams, ensure awareness is conducted and oversee the application of HSE rules and policies in their sector
  • Encourages people to report risks and participate in finding solutions
  • Ensures the completion of associated Inspections, Analyses, and Action Plans

Production:

  • With the Planning team, monitor the production plan and adjust as needed to ensure objectives are met
  • Ensure the availability and optimization of resources to promote workforce efficiency
  • Manages workforce movements by ensuring optimal versatility of the manufacturing employees in their sector

Quality:

  • With the quality teams, ensure awareness is conducted with operators regarding quality (internal and external)
  • Ensure the dynamic and performance of operational problem-solving RPO / 8D
  • Ensure the achievement of quality objectives and performance for their sector

Continuous Improvement:

  • Supports continuous improvement activities

Requirements:

  • Relevant university degree or experience
  • About 10 years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Unionized manufacturing environment
