Main duties
- Perform preventive maintenance, routine upkeep, and minor repairs on mechanical equipment, including hangar doors, rolling doors, fire doors, etc.
- Install, dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery using welding equipment and hand and power tools.
- Perform building inspections to ensure compliance with building code standards.
- Work safely, in accordance with industry standards, while performing various facility-related tasks.
- Work independently or as part of a team, under pressure and on rotating shifts, including weekends and on-call.
Qualifications
- DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) mandatory;
- Valid driver's licence with a clean record mandatory;
- Interprovincial millwright companion licence or interprovincial qualification certificate (Red Seal), an asset;
- At least five years of experience in the field;
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email, and Internet);
- Knowledge of building mechanics, hangar door systems, control systems, property management systems (Trane/Siemens), mechanical system operation, MIG welding, CMMS (computerized maintenance management system);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail;
- Punctuality and reliability to support the team's overall success in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to meet Air Canada medical standards as part of a medical examination;
- Hire is conditional on meeting Transport Canada security requirements and obtaining a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and an Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP); Please consult the Transport Canada website for more details.
