Main duties
- Perform preventive maintenance, routine servicing and minor repairs of mechanical equipment, including hangar doors, overhead doors, fire doors, etc.
- Install, dismantle, repair and reassemble machinery using welding equipment and hand and power tools.
- Carry out building inspections to ensure compliance with building code standards.
- Work safely in accordance with industry standards while performing various facilities‑related tasks.
- Work independently or as part of a team, under pressure and on rotating shifts, including weekends and on‑call.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast‑moving environment.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma (DEP) required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record required.
- Interprovincial Mechanic‑Fitter ticket or interprovincial certification (Red Seal).
- Must obtain 5th‑class stationary engineer certificate during probation if not already held.
- At least three years of related experience.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email and Internet).
- Knowledge of building mechanics, hangar door systems, control systems, building management systems (Trane/Siemens), mechanical system operation, MIG welding and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet Air Canada medical standards through a medical examination.
- Employment is subject to Transport Canada security requirements and obtaining a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC/CIZR) and an Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP).
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is located at the time an offer is made and are responsible for obtaining any required permits, visas or other authorizations.
