Job Description

In collaboration with the Director, Flight Safety, the person actively contributes to incident prevention by ensuring the analysis, monitoring, and continuous improvement of practices related to air operations safety.

Responsibilities

• Receive, analyze, and follow up on safety reports and incidents.
• Assess risks, identify causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure follow-ups with relevant managers and ensure the implementation of corrective measures.
• Provide feedback to employees who reported safety events, including analysis results.
• Participate in investigations, including joint investigations when required.
• Ensure effective communication between the flight safety department and pilots.
• Prepare and disseminate safety communications (e.g., newsletters for pilots).
• Actively participate in safety meetings (daily, monthly, and committees).
• Support the director and management as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the airline industry, particularly in flight operations, air safety, as an air traffic controller, flight dispatcher, or pilot.
• Pilot's license, an asset.
• Excellent analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Autonomy, rigor, and good management of priorities and emergencies.
• Availability to travel as needed.
• Excellent command of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated ease with collaborative digital tools and AI (e.g., Copilot).
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
• Oral and written proficiency in French and English *
  A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will frequently communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
