About the project
As a toolmaker, you play a key role in the manufacturing, fitting and maintenance of tooling used to produce high-precision parts for the aerospace industry. Responsibilities
- Manufacture tools, jigs, fixtures and assemblies according to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
- Machine tooling parts on conventional and CNC machines (lathe, milling machine, grinder). Adjust, assemble and test tooling to ensure proper operation.
- Diagnose issues on existing tooling. Repair, modify or improve tools and production devices. Perform preventive maintenance on tooling.
- Verify dimensional and functional conformity of manufactured tools. Use precision measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, dial indicator, etc.).
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers and production technicians. Quickly adjust tools when production issues arise.
- Propose improvements to optimize part manufacturing.
- Complete technical documentation (sheets, reports, PCD, etc.). Comply with health and safety standards and quality standards (e.g., aerospace).
Skills and qualifications
- D.E.P. in machining techniques or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with CNC or conventional machines.
- Deburring skills considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety rules, including WHMIS.
- Good command of French, both spoken and written, required.
