Commercial Partner - Finance

Reporting to the Director - Financial Analysis and Regional Carriers, the person occupying the position of Commercial Partner - Finance provides financial support services related to the Regional Carriers portfolio, with an emphasis on the financial management of capacity purchase contracts. As part of their duties, they will support financial management and planning, financial reporting and other financial services.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and support for the Regional Carriers portfolio, as part of the ongoing management of related commercial activities, including planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Collaborate with clients to develop commercial dashboards and key performance indicators while providing advice and analysis to help make strategic business decisions to achieve or exceed financial objectives.
• Collaborate with the regional Finance management team, management personnel and other members of the Finance team to provide advice on the interpretation of capacity purchase contracts and financial policies, as well as accounting requirements, processes and systems.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships and ongoing collaboration with the finance and management teams of regional partners to foster effective communication, problem-solving and harmonization of financial issues.
• Establish and manage strong and effective working relationships with the management lead, internal groups and strategic partners, and ensure the adoption of solutions and changes made to processes and strategies.
• Offer value-added service to internal clients by identifying and evaluating profitability improvement opportunities and strategies, internal process changes and new cost-saving opportunities.
• In conjunction with senior management teams, develop and recommend financial goals, objectives and strategies that are consistent with the overall financial plan of the Corporation.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance compared to forecasts and ensure that corrective actions are taken, as needed.
• Perform post-evaluations of projects or programs, where applicable, in order to compare expected results with actual results.
• Ensure that the level of service offered remains high at all times in terms of punctuality and accuracy.
• Ensure that financial management processes and systems as well as effective controls are developed, implemented and maintained in accordance with policies and requirements.
• Lead financial evaluations and recommend an action plan for business unit initiatives and projects.

Qualifications

• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in business administration, finance or accounting, a requirement.
• Experience in personnel management, including providing advice, coaching, performance feedback and daily support to team members.
• Accounting designation or other professional title (CPA, MBA, CFA), a requirement.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to examine complex data and report on it.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a team.
• Autonomy, drive, strong initiative and creativity.
• Rigorous work ethic, drive and dedication.
• Strong interest in the airline industry.
• Proven organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet changing deadlines.
• Experience working with financial applications and software such as the Microsoft suite, PeopleSoft and Power BI.
• Proven punctuality and reliability to promote the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
