In this role, you will play a key part in the effective management of our crews by providing general administrative support and coordinating training with external providers. JOB SUMMARY: As a Human Resources Associate, you play a key role in executing HR strategies aligned with operational objectives that strengthen employee engagement and foster a positive culture. This role combines strategic planning with practical application to deliver impactful HR solutions in close partnership with assigned client group leaders to provide expert advice on all HR matters and initiatives. This role requires a dynamic individual who combines strategic and critical thinking with a practical approach to implement HR strategies, goals, and operational objectives. - Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing HR insights and advice to support strategic decisions and operational objectives.
- Collaborate with and support client group leaders and employees on all HR matters.
- Lead key strategic HR initiatives defined in the company's objectives, through strong management skills.
- Drive organizational development by collaborating with leaders to assess and improve structures, roles, and methods, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering long-term efficiency.
- Expertly understand business needs and challenges to better develop and provide solutions that impact positive results.
- Oversee and collaborate with leaders on annual talent management initiatives, such as performance reviews and succession planning, helping leaders identify high-potential employees and successors for key positions.
- Effectively advise people managers on performance management issues, such as development plans and performance improvement plans.
- Collaborate with people managers on complex employee relations matters and provide guidance on the interpretation and application of all employment legislation and company policies to mitigate potential risks.
- Manage disability cases related to short- or long-term disability benefits, from WSIB/CNESST/CSST.
- Create and maintain strong relationships with executives and employees at all levels to most effectively achieve the goals of human resources plans and strategies.
- Use HR data and analytics to identify trends and generate actionable insights. As needed, prepare presentations using generated data to propose compelling narratives.
- At least 8 years of progressive human resources experience, including at least 5 years delivering strategic client-facing HR solutions in an HR Associate role.
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP/CHRL) or Conseiller en ressources humaines agréé (CRHA) designation, considered an asset.
- Bilingualism in English and French (spoken and written) is required.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement, through the implementation of scalable HR solutions aligned with current and future business objectives.
- Strong functional knowledge of all aspects of human resources practices, policies, and programs.
- In-depth understanding of employment legislation, including the Canada Labour Code, and experience working in a federally regulated environment.
Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, and ability to adapt quickly to changing operational priorities and needs with a sense of urgency and flexibility. - Proactive and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Critical thinking ability with exceptional problem-solving and solution implementation skills.
- Strong project and time management skills, communication skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships, with proven ability to coach leaders and resolve conflicts, as well as establish credibility and earn trust at all levels of the organization.
- Bilingualism – French and English (written and spoken), desirable.
- Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in the MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with ADP WorkForce Now or Jobvite system, considered an asset.
