In this role, you will play a key role in the smooth management of our crews by providing general administrative support and coordinating training with external suppliers. You will bring a touch of innovation, strategic thinking, adaptability and heart to service to improve our crew support and training programs.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: As a Human Resources Associate, you play a key role in the execution of HR strategies linked to operational objectives that strengthen employee engagement and foster a positive culture. This role combines strategic planning with practical application to deliver impactful HR solutions in close partnership with leaders of the assigned client group to offer expert advice on all HR issues and initiatives. This role requires a dynamic person who combines strategic and critical thinking with a hands-on approach to implement HR operational strategies, goals and objectives.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing HR insights and advice to support strategic decisions and operational objectives.
  • Collaborate with and support client group leaders and employees on all HR matters.
  • Lead key strategic HR initiatives defined in company goals, through strong management skills.
  • Drive organizational development by collaborating with leaders to assess and improve structures, roles and methods, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and fostering long-term efficiency.
  • With expertise, understand business needs and challenges to better develop and deliver solutions impacting positive outcomes.
  • Oversee and collaborate with leaders in annual talent management initiatives, such as performance reviews and succession planning, helping leaders identify high-potential employees and successors to key positions.
  • Effectively advise personnel managers on performance management issues, such as development plans and performance improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with personnel managers on complex employee relations issues and provide guidance on the interpretation and application of all employment legislation and company policies to mitigate potential risks.
  • Manage disability cases regarding short or long-term disability benefits, WSIB/WCB/CNESST/CSST.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with executives and employees at all levels, to most effectively achieve the goals of human resources plans and strategies.
  • Use HR data and analytics to identify trends and generate actionable insights. When necessary, prepare presentations using generated data to propose compelling narratives.

TRAINING AND SKILLS:

  • At least 8 years of progressive human resources experience, including at least 5 years delivering client-facing strategic HR solutions in an HR Associate role.
  • Post-secondary diploma in human resources.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CRHA or CHRP/CHRL) designation considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French (spoken and written) is required.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement through the implementation of scalable HR solutions matching present and future corporate objectives.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of human resources practices, policies and programs.
  • In-depth understanding of employment legislation, notably the Canada Labour Code, and experience working in a federally regulated environment.
    Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, and ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and operational needs with a sense of urgency and flexibility.
  • Drive and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking capacity with exceptional problem-solving and solution-implementation aptitude.
  • Strong project and time management skills, communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with proven ability to coach leaders and resolve conflicts, as well as establish credibility and earn trust at all levels of the business.
  • Bilingualism – French and English (written and spoken), desirable.
  • Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in the MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with ADP WorkForce Now or Jobvite system considered an asset.
