Job Description:

The A220 Commercial Aircraft Program is looking for a Project Management Business Partner to join our team of Project Management Business Partners for aircraft-related functions, based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).

You will be part of the team responsible for implementing best practices in project management, performance management of functions, the company's risk and opportunity process within a given function, and portfolio management.

The team's organization is designed to promote autonomous cross-functional collaboration, mutual support, and collective learning. Strong leadership and autonomy are also promoted within this role.

Your role as a Project Management Business Partner will be to work in close collaboration with stakeholders and the project lead on initiatives supporting the A220 StepX Program. On a daily basis, you will support the Project Lead in achieving objectives and deliverables and act as the Project Manager's right hand across different pillars of the project (planning, risk management and cost management).

Your challenges:

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Project Leader, sharedly responsible for Time, Cost, Quality, and Performance (TCQ&P) of projects and the function.
  • In concert with the Project Leader, establish initiatives, priorities, and milestones ensuring robust planning from the earliest stages.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and stakeholders to solve complex problems and ensure synchronization and necessary proposals for activity success.
  • Contribute to identification, monitoring and management of project risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure quality of plans by implementing performance indicators and monitoring rules.
  • Manage and control scope of activities.
  • Supervise and coordinate all stages of assigned projects, ensuring quality work within prescribed timeframe and budget.
  • Collaborate with other Business Partners of the same scope to establish standards among A220 projects.
  • Manage human change management: stakeholder identification to execution of engagement plans across multiple functions and levels.
  • Use specific project management tools and methodologies to ensure optimal execution.
  • Facilitate workshops as needed to foster collaboration.
  • Create synergies within the Project Management community by sharing experience and best practices.

Your boarding pass:

  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; organized, leadership and teamwork orientation.
  • In process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or related field.
  • Relevant experience in Project or Programme Management.
  • PMP certification is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of Airbus project maturity process (LBIP) and Aircraft Change Request process (PCR) are assets.
  • Proficient user of Planisware is an asset.
  • Proven ability to facilitate and manage large-scale workshops with numerous stakeholders.
  • Experience in international roles within ramp-up environments is an asset.
  • Strong demonstrated leadership skills and high level of influence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building ability.
  • Ability to assertively advocate viewpoints with critical thinking and constructive challenge.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with high autonomy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and high pressure.
  • High sense of commitment, willingness to accept responsibility, and desire to mentor others in project management.
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt to new challenges.
  • Proven ability to navigate a complex matrix organization (key success factor at Airbus/A220).
  • Recognized communication skills with ability to synthesize messages for executive audiences.
  • Ability to rally teams around a common goal.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry; aerospace experience is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
