Position Summary

Thales currently has a vacancy for this role who will provide work package and scheduling support to the Ship Maintenance Lead and the Service Delivery Team in planning and organizing all required routines while developing an integrated schedule for multiple work periods. The role manages the preparation, monitoring, and maintenance of Work Period work lists and schedules. The postholder will coordinate and communicate with suppliers and the waterfront service team and provide an accurate and executable schedule to minimize conflict between tasks. The role will ensure accurate and timely reports are produced as required, update real-time dashboards, and communicate schedule changes across the enterprise. It will implement data-driven approaches to analyze maintenance performance and identify trends that could improve the efficiency of a work period. Additional tasks include raising purchase requisitions on behalf of the SML, collecting and organizing objective quality evidence, and assisting Maintenance Coordinators with Work Pack Management.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Provision of general project support and administration activities to the Waterfront Service Delivery Team
  • Prepare reports and updates on schedule progression and adherence
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to prepare and present reports to a range of audiences
  • Exposure to scheduling tools (Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 preferred)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum two years' experience scheduling and/or planning projects
  • Strong computer literacy, with proven experience with Microsoft products especially Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint
  • College graduate with trade experience, or postgraduate qualifications or training in Business, Project Management, or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Competent with the use of scheduling tools (Microsoft Project and Primavera P6)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of previous experience working within the military or marine industry related to shipbuilding, ship repair, or ship maintenance
  • Experience working in SAP
  • Experience and knowledge of an ERP or EAM (SAP and Maximo)
  • PMP certification
  • Experience in procurement, project management, or operations

Special Position Requirements

Hybrid schedule: Predominantly working onsite in the Naval Dockyard and onboard naval vessels; will also be required to work from the office or from home.

Compensation

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) $70,000 - $90,000 CAD annually. This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. Where a position falls within this range depends on factors such as the employee's career history, competencies, skills and performance, the company's annual salary budget, the customer's program requirements, and the company's internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by applicable law.
