This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of measurement and inspection equipment, from simple and complex gauges to Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), balancing equipment, and other precision instruments. This is a full-time day position from Monday to Friday, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for multiple projects or a variety of tasks within their functional discipline;
  • Makes significant contributions to the team by applying expertise within their field;
  • Works with minimal to moderate supervision on short- and medium-term projects;
  • Possesses a solid understanding of the fundamentals of their discipline and role, while continuing to develop specialized knowledge;
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of measurement instruments used in production.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Analyze non-conformances and support various PWC facilities with standard and non-standard gauges, work procedures, and the reassessment of reinspection cycles;
  • Support production planners in the development and enhancement of metrology functions;
  • Provide metrology support for advanced manufacturing centers;
  • Lead the implementation of the ISO 10012 standard within the dimensional metrology laboratory;
  • Support the team responsible for defining measurement equipment uncertainty calculations;
  • Establish and monitor compliance with international metrology quality standards;
  • Coordinate internal and external audits related to dimensional gauge management;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for business processes related to the metrology laboratory and measurement instrument management;
  • Review and update internal work instructions (GSTIs) for inspectors.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automated Production Engineering, or a related field, combined with 2 to 5 years of experience in the manufacturing of mechanical components;
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • General knowledge of metrology, with experience as a Gauge Inspector;
  • Knowledge of measurement and test equipment calibration is considered an asset;
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives is considered an asset.

Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
