We are supporting our client, a major player in the Canadian aerospace industry, in their search for a Works and Materials Planner (evening shift) to contribute to the optimization of logistics flows and production activities in a manufacturing environment.
Role and responsibilities
- Define and lead Lean and reliable material flows, from the receiving dock to the point of use, in close collaboration with the Logistics and Supply teams.
- Define and implement inventory management strategies to optimize working capital.
- Establish and monitor the load plan for unpaced production workshops.
- Develop solutions to align supply and demand to achieve inventory management objectives.
- Define and document handling equipment needs, from the receiving dock to workstations.
- Define, document, and optimize kitting processes for production.
- Collaborate with Logistics-Supply, Methods, Industrial Engineering, Plant Engineering, Infrastructure, and Quality teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, cost reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence).
- Contribute to the improvement of planning and materials management processes.
- Perform any other related tasks as required by the project.
Desired profile
- You hold a bachelor's degree in logistics, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field, or a DEC combined with equivalent experience.
- You have between 2 and 5 years of experience in logistics, production planning, or materials management.
- Experience in the aerospace or automotive sectors is an asset.
- You demonstrate a strong interest in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project).
- You are comfortable with Google Suite tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive).
- Experience with SAP is an asset.
- You are recognized for your analytical mind, organizational skills, and ability to work in a team.
- You have a good command of French and a functional understanding of English.
