Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacture of major landing gear components for Airbus A320, A330 and A350, and Boeing 787 models. State-of-the-art equipment is used for machining, polishing and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening and surface treatments.

The polisher's work consists of deburring (rounding) the edges of the box, the main component of the landing gear, to prevent cracks from forming during heat treatment (high temperature heating). It is also used to give final dimensions to the part by performing polishing to obtain very precise radii and diameters. This operation is done using manual pneumatic tools. The polisher must also inspect parts.
