Our Airbus Atlantique site based in Mirabel is looking for its future: Aircraft assembly fitter.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the production supervisor, the incumbent will have the main mandate of sealing certain sections of aircraft and specific parts, in compliance with established quality standards. Sealant specialists are engaged in the preparation and application of sealants on various aeronautical components.

Responsibilities

Apply the sealant according to operational standards. Carry out visual inspection of components and ensure the quality and compliance of the work performed.

Planning

  • Estimate the scope of work and required duration;
  • Select materials required to accomplish the work;
  • Prepare the work area for the task at hand;
  • Prepare ground support equipment, such as stands, scissor lift tables, scaffolding, ladders and carts.

Surface Preparation

  • Clean aircraft, parts and components for application and inspection purposes

Coating Application

  • Clean surfaces by rubbing with a tack cloth before applying the coating;
  • Proceed with the application of coatings.

Quality Assurance and Equipment Maintenance

  • Record the repair and application in the documentation;
  • Evaluate the finished product and the task accomplished according to defined specifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Academic training: hold a DES (high school diploma) and successfully complete an evaluation demonstrating basic technical skills.

Experience: experience in a similar position could be considered an asset.

Special Requirements:

  • Meticulousness and precision, good reflexes, ease of concentration and attention to detail;
  • Ability to distinguish colors, finishes and textures;
  • Ability to pick out relevant details in objects or graphic representations;
  • Ability to notice finishing details;
  • Able to work at height (nacelle)
  • Possess excellent manual dexterity;
  • Ease of adaptation to numerous technological changes;
  • Ease of teamwork (multidisciplinary team);
  • Apply good professional safety practices as well as rules and regulations relating to their work and work environment;
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
