Sealant Technician

Job Description

AAA Canada is looking for several sealant technicians to join our team. Under the supervision of the production supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for sealing certain sections of equipment and specific parts in accordance with established quality standards. Sealant technicians are involved in the preparation and application of sealants on various aeronautical components.

Responsibilities

• Estimate the scope of work and the time required.
• Select materials required to complete the work.
• Prepare the work area for the task to be performed.
• Prepare ground support equipment such as stands, scissor lifts, scaffolding, ladders and carts.
• Surface preparation:
  • Clean aircraft, parts and components for application and inspection.
• Coating application:
  • Clean surfaces by wiping with a tack cloth before applying the coating.
  • Proceed with the application of coatings.
• Quality assurance and equipment maintenance:
  • Record repairs and applications in documentation.
  • Evaluate the finished product and the completed task according to defined specifications.

Skills and Qualifications

• Hold a high school diploma (DES) and pass an assessment demonstrating basic technical skills.
• Ability to distinguish colors, finishes and textures.
• Ability to identify relevant details in objects or graphic representations.
• Attention to finishing details.
• Able to work at height (aerial work platform).
• Excellent manual dexterity.
• Ability to adapt to frequent technological changes.
• Ability to work in a team (multidisciplinary team).
• Apply professional safety practices as well as rules and regulations related to the work and the work environment.
