Regulatory Compliance Requirements

Position Summary
Thales is seeking an experienced engineer based in Ottawa (remote) who will be responsible for the successful delivery of infrastructure services to Thales North America, including deployment, maintenance and support of virtual server and cloud environments.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Deploy, maintain and ensure uptime of all production and engineering virtual servers.
- Provide infrastructure support and application deployment assistance to the engineering software support team.
- Champion service restoration through proper prioritization and escalation to vendors and/or internal support groups.
- Provide support for infrastructure-related service incidents and follow internal management escalation procedures as needed (team rotation).
- Handle tickets in ServiceNow, read architecture diagrams, and construct services based on those diagrams.
- Support infrastructure including: VMware hypervisors, Azure, AWS, Hyper-V, Linux servers, and Windows servers.
- Support engineering applications such as Jira, Artifactory and Bitbucket.
- Ensure that all systems meet Thales security standards and escalate violations as required.
- Prepare weekly systems service availability reports for the department.
- Monitor customer Service Level Agreements with respect to availability and maintain service levels through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Work with minimal supervision and provide suggestions for professional development and training plans.
- Participate in projects to advance partnership opportunities with other teams.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for infrastructure-related incidents as part of the team rotation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or Master's degree in computer science with 4+ years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of Linux enterprise infrastructure experience.
- At least 5 years of experience administering VMware vSphere, vCenter and Azure Stack.
- Strong knowledge and experience administering applications on Microsoft Windows and Linux (Red Hat and Ubuntu preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, oral and written communication skills; strong planning, implementation and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, be detail oriented and work on own initiative.
The ideal candidate will also have extensive experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and supporting software development environments.
Special Position Requirements
Schedule: Core business hours are Monday to Friday between 9:30 and 15:00. Specific work schedule and expected hours will be discussed. Some weekend and evening work may be required depending on projects and customer requirements.
Compensation
The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) 100,000.00 - 125,000.00 CAD Annual. This range is one data point among many used to make pay decisions and placement within the range depends on factors such as career history, competencies, skills and performance.
