Global Trade Specialist - Customer Service

The mission of the Customer Service Global Trade (GT) Group is to ensure the requirements related to international trade laws from different jurisdictions are met in the different departments of Customer Service and are embedded or automated as much as possible in the business processes to ensure mistake proof gates are in place and prevent any violations of the here mentioned laws. This entails an understanding of the Customer Service organization as a whole and of the risks that each department faces. This also entails creating, managing and improving GT-specific business processes to support the efficiency of P&WC’s dealings with their customers, suppliers and partners. Such processes include getting proactively the required export and import licenses & permits, identifying record-retention strategies or assessing the classification of products or of technology and establishing a training strategy for all Customer Service employees.

By joining our GT team in the Customer Service organization, you will be joining a dynamic project oriented team dedicated to making P&WC best in class in GT. An ideal job position to leverage legal and business skills and interests in a fast pace and thriving customer focused environment. You will be joining a team of people with diverse backgrounds (engineering, communication, law, business, etc.) located worldwide (mainly Longueuil, but also in Singapore, Poland, USA, UK, Brazil and India).

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

What your day will look like / Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead compliance/business projects leveraging other Global Trade (GT) Professionals located throughout the Customer Service organization namely in Canada, U.S. and internationally.

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of GT processes and standard work.

  • Coordinate the implementation of RTX (Raytheon Technologies Corporation) and P&WC GT requirements into Customer Service business processes.

  • Train Customer Service business personnel on GT requirements and policy/regulatory changes.

  • Reinforce GT general awareness throughout Customer Service business units.

  • Strategically lead and function as the "go-to" point of contact for GT across various Customer Service departments.

  • Ensure the smooth shipment of commodities through different DT systems.

  • Participate in internal investigations related to GT escapes/violations and seek meaningful corrective actions and mistake proof solutions as well as contribute to Voluntary Disclosures made to the U.S., Canadian or other foreign governments as applicable

  • Manage the GT Focal program.

  • Assist in developing training plans and initiatives based on the training requirements

  • Collaborate with the Legal department and other P&WC GT business specific teams to align, streamline and create synergies and cross-company efficiencies.

What do you need to be successful:

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor degree with 3 to 5 years experience

  • Master degree with 2 to 4 years experience

Areas of Study:

  • Management / Engineering / Law

Assets:

  • Experience with SAP, xClass, GTS, CRM, Excel and PowerPoint

This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
