The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a project lead to join our avionics systems team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada).

You will be part of the autoflight systems team responsible for integration and development of design solutions applicable to the autoflight systems (AFCS) for the A220 aircraft.

The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as an Autoflight Systems Project Lead will be to lead the technical integration, development, and testing activities for the next generation of A220 aircraft’s automated flight systems.

Your challenges:

  • Define the development roadmap for the next generation of A220 automated flight systems;
  • Lead technical integration, development, and testing activities from early requirement analysis phases (pre-MG3) through to Entry Into Service (EIS);
  • Manage priorities, development strategies, and work package scheduling to achieve expected maturity levels;
  • Report project status during technical milestone review meetings (MG) and coordination meetings;
  • Draft labor/work estimates and collaborate on schedule definition;
  • Lead trade studies and adapt development strategies accordingly;
  • Ensure multidisciplinary and cross-platform technical alignment for next-generation automated flight systems;
  • Lead discussions and negotiations with suppliers;
  • Review development, verification, and validation (V&V) plans to ensure automated flight systems meet certification objectives.

Your boarding pass:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Software, or Aerospace Engineering;
  • You have at least 15 years of experience in the design of avionics systems;
  • You demonstrate excellent understanding of engineering change management, system development processes, and avionics systems certification;
  • You demonstrate deep knowledge of industry regulations and standards for avionics systems development, including: 14 CFR Part 25, ARP4754, DO-178, DO-331, DO-254, CS-AWO, AC 120-28, and AC 120-29;
  • You possess strong expertise in avionics systems, specifically guidance systems, autopilot, and autothrottle;
  • You are a strong team player with excellent organizational skills;
  • You possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is required;
  • You must be eligible to obtain required export control clearances (EAR and dual-use goods regulations);
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional international travel required.
