The A220 commercial aircraft Program is looking for Electrical Systems Professional to join our Center of Competencies team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work with a multifunctional team including Chief Engineering, Programs, Methods, Production, Customer Service, Quality, etc.

You will be part of the Electrical Systems Center of Competencies responsible for:

  • Advanced systems design and technical expertise;
  • Design assurance, problem solving and continuous improvement;
  • Supplier management, technical integration, and cross-functional collaboration.

The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as Electrical Systems Professional will be to lead and manage engineering projects through in-depth technical expertise in aircraft electrical and lighting systems, proven skills in Project and Program Management to ensure adherence to deadlines, budget, and quality in a complex and multidisciplinary environment.

Your challenges:

  • Perform various tasks related to the integration, development, qualification, certification and in-service support of electrical and lighting systems for A220 family aircraft;
  • Lead and manage engineering projects delivering results within defined time, budget and quality standards;
  • Lead investigations of in-service and manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis and risk assessment;
  • Define and execute technical solutions to resolve development issues in-service and on the final assembly line;
  • Provide technical expertise to the final assembly line to address non-conformance reports (NCR);
  • Define, generate and maintain customer configurations and electrical load/voltage drop analysis reports;
  • Participate in design reviews with system suppliers and certification authorities to meet aircraft design requirements and objectives;
  • Manage, review and approve deliverables from system suppliers;
  • Collaborate with other departments such as production, customer support, program office, procurement and product planning;

Your boarding pass:

  • You hold a university degree in electrical or aerospace engineering or the equivalent;
  • You have at least five (5) years of relevant experience in the design, development, integration, testing and certification of aircraft systems;
  • You have expertise in project management, supplier management and the ability to lead complex projects;
  • You have expertise in system engineering, product development, V&V, AC & DC aircraft architectures and lighting systems;
  • You have expertise in complex Continuing Airworthiness Risk Assessment (CAA) and presentation to the Continuing Airworthiness Review Board (CARB);
  • You possess a positive, proactive and committed attitude, taking full responsibility for your deliverables;
  • You have experience with the DO-160 qualification process and knowledge of the DO-178 process;
  • You have experience with the FAR25/525 certification process and with the ARP4754 standard;
  • You have experience with civil aviation and airworthiness authorities;
  • You are proficient in the use of Google Suite software tools to produce presentations and reports;
  • You have the ability to work well in a multi-functional team environment;
  • You have the ability to be proactive and engaged in digitalization and data analytics;
  • You have strong communication skills (written and spoken) in French and English;
  • Knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering is considered an asset.
