Job Description
Do you have experience in aeronautics, have you worked in aerospace engineering or electrical systems, and do you want to evolve and develop new skills? This position is for you!
The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for an Electrical and Lighting Systems Professional to join the Systems Center of Excellence team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work with a multifunctional team including Chief Engineering, Program, Methods, Production, Customer Service, Quality, etc.
You will be part of the Electrical Systems Center of Excellence team in charge of:
Design of advanced systems and technical expertise;
Design assurance and problem solving;
Supplier management, technical integration and cross-functional collaboration.
Your role as Electrical and Lighting Systems Professional will be to lead and manage engineering projects through in-depth technical expertise in aircraft electrical and lighting systems, proven Project and Program Management skills to ensure compliance with deadlines, budget adherence and quality in a complex and multidisciplinary environment.
Your challenges:
Provide technical leadership and guidance during the integration, development, qualification and certification of electrical and lighting systems for A220 family aircraft;
Contribute to the definition of the architectural framework for electrical and lighting systems, ensuring long-term technical consistency, design integrity and alignment with program objectives;
Ensure design convergence between several simultaneous development projects, guaranteeing that architectural decisions meet technical, operational and certification requirements;
Act as a technical resource for the compilation and synthesis of data related to program modifications, ensuring that all technical requirements are faithfully reflected in the system design;
Lead design reviews as a technical expert with strategic system suppliers and certification authorities to ensure design objectives are met;
Manage, review and technically approve key system supplier deliverables, ensuring their compliance with technical specifications and program standards;
Provide technical interface with other engineering disciplines and program functions, facilitating the efficient exchange of critical data necessary for design progress;
Collaborate closely with internal departments such as production, customer support, program office, purchasing and product planning to ensure that design solutions are feasible, cost-effective and compliant with all downstream requirements;
Define and implement high-impact technical solutions to resolve development problems, both in service and on the final assembly line.
Requirements
Your profile:
You hold a university degree in electrical or aerospace engineering or equivalent;
You have at least seven (7) years of relevant experience in the design, development, integration, testing and certification of aircraft systems;
You have expertise in project management, supplier management and the ability to lead complex projects;
You have expertise in system engineering, product development, V&V, AC & DC aircraft architectures and lighting systems;
You have a positive, proactive and committed attitude;
You have expertise in complex airworthiness risk assessment and presentation to the airworthiness review committee;
You have experience with the DO-160 qualification process and knowledge of the DO-178 process;
You have experience with the FAR 25/525 certification process and with the ARP4754 standard;
You have experience with civil aviation and airworthiness authorities;
You are proficient in using Google Suite software tools to produce presentations and reports;
You have the ability to work well in a multifunctional team environment;
You have the ability to be proactive and committed to digitization and data analysis;
You have strong communication skills (written and spoken) in French and English;
Knowledge in mechanical engineering is considered an asset.
