Position description
The Internal Research and Development (IRAD) program is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented student to join the team supporting our development efforts for the 1LMX project. Working alongside the team lead, quality assurance, and developers, the candidate will support the setup and documentation of our IBM Jazz Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) environment.
Responsibilities
- Help configure, maintain, and set up the IBM Jazz ELM environment
- Support creation and organization of project areas, team areas, user permissions, and access controls within IBM ELM applications
- Help document system configurations, workflows, naming conventions, and usage procedures for engineering teams
- Maintain and update internal documentation related to IBM ELM tools, including:
- Requirements management (DOORS Next)
- Workflow management
- Test management
- Reports and dashboards
- Help create standardized templates, workflows, and best practices for project teams using the Jazz platform
- Support onboarding activities for new users by helping create user guides, quick reference documents, and training materials
- Assist troubleshooting basic user issues related to permissions, workflows, dashboards, and artifact management
- Help track and document configuration changes, system updates, and process improvements in the ELM environment
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, and project management teams to ensure lifecycle management processes are properly documented and followed
- Help maintain traceability between requirements, work items, test cases, and related engineering artifacts
- Support data cleanup, artifact organization, and metadata consistency in Jazz project areas
- Participate in testing and validation of configuration changes prior to deployment to production environments
- Produce and maintain reports, metrics, and dashboards to support project visibility and compliance activities
- Help ensure documentation compliance with organizational quality standards and configuration management practices
What you bring
- Enrollment in an accredited university engineering program, ideally mechanical, electrical, or software
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Visio
- Interest in ELM, configuration management, or professional tools
- Ability to learn technical systems and complex workflows
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to obtain NATO Secret security clearance in a timely manner
Preferred additional skills
- Experience with IBM Jazz ELM (DOORS Next, engineering test management, engineering workflow management)
