Are you passionate about data products that deliver value to the business and customers? If so, you could be the Product Owner - Data Product we are seeking!

Reporting to the Head of Data Product Management, the Product Owner plays a key role in managing data assets across Air Canada products, specifically within Loyalty, Marketing and eCommerce data domains.

As the Product Owner - Data and Artificial Intelligence, you will connect stakeholders with the teams responsible for delivering data. You will ensure data products meet end-user needs and expectations as well as the company's strategic objectives. You will work in an Agile environment with frequent feedback and iterations, and you will use the latest tools and technologies to create scalable, reliable, and user-friendly data products.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and participate in Agile sessions to assess and capture stakeholder needs
    • Conduct requirements elicitation.
    • Play an active role in working sessions to define requirements.
    • Guide the creation of mapping documents that cover business rules and ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Act as the link between users/stakeholders and the data delivery team
    • Maximize the value delivered by the team by ensuring the product backlog is aligned with business requirements and the product lead's vision.
    • Write, present, and prepare user stories with the delivery team.
    • Coordinate with the development team to ensure stories are developed.
    • Provide day-to-day support to clarify requirements and business rules (main point of contact for the delivery team regarding requirements and prioritization).
    • Facilitate, coordinate, and execute acceptance testing.
    • Play a leading role in various SCRUM ceremonies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and three to five years of experience as a business analyst or product owner, including hands-on experience managing all stages of a product lifecycle (Master's preferred).
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics concepts and data warehouse platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, strategic mindset, results orientation, and attention to detail.
  • High adaptability and strong critical thinking.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and analytics tools and delivery technologies:
    • SQL (required)
    • Jira or Confluence (an asset)
    • Snowflake (optional)
    • Databricks (optional)
  • Best practices for user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Experience with Agile methodology (CSM/PSM or CPO/PSPO certification is an asset).
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
