Reporting to the Data Product Management Manager, the Product Owner plays a key role in managing data assets for all Air Canada Products, specifically within the Loyalty, Marketing and eCommerce data domains.
As a Product Owner - Data and Artificial Intelligence, you will liaise between stakeholders and data delivery teams. You will ensure that data products meet end-user needs and expectations, as well as strategic business objectives. You will work in an Agile environment, which means frequent feedback and iterations, and you will use the latest tools and technologies to create scalable, reliable and user-friendly data products.
Responsibilities
Facilitate and participate in Agile sessions to assess and capture stakeholder needs
- Proceed with requirements elicitation.
- Play an active role in requirements definition workshops.
- Guide the creation of mapping documents that cover business rules and ensure data quality and accuracy.
Serve as a liaison between users/stakeholders and the data delivery team
- Maximize the value delivered by the team by ensuring the product backlog is aligned with business requirements and the product manager's vision.
- Write, present and prepare user stories with the delivery team.
- Coordinate with the development team to ensure stories are developed.
- Provide daily support for clarifying requirements and business rules (main point of contact for the delivery team regarding requirements and prioritization).
- Facilitate, coordinate and execute acceptance tests.
- Play a leading role in the various SCRUM ceremonies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and three to five years of experience as a business analyst or product owner, including practical experience managing all stages of a product lifecycle (master's, a preference).
- Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics concepts and data warehouse platforms.
- Problem solving, strategic thinking, results orientation and attention to detail.
- High adaptability and strong critical thinking.
- Knowledge of data analysis and analytics tools and delivery technologies:
- SQL (required)
- Jira or Confluence (an asset);
- Snowflake (optional);
- Databricks (optional).
- Best practices in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Experience with the Agile method (CSM/PSM certification or CPO/PSPO certification, an asset).
- Strong talent for communication and listening.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
