Air Canada is implementing a modern, customer-centric travel distribution ecosystem through New Distribution Capability (NDC) and innovative B2B digital commerce solutions. These solutions support travel agents, technology partners and other industry stakeholders throughout their interactions with Air Canada by providing efficient digital experiences, reliable information, technical resources and relevant advice. The NDC portal and the Agent Reference page are among the main solutions supporting this ecosystem.
The Products - Distribution and Payment team is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented and motivated Product Owner, specialized in B2B commerce solutions, to lead the day-to-day delivery and continuous improvement of B2B digital commerce products, with a particular focus on solutions supporting Air Canada's NDC strategy. Reporting to the Manager, Products - B2B Commerce Solutions, the incumbent must translate partner needs, stakeholder requirements and business priorities into clear specifications, a well-prioritized product backlog and high-quality digital experiences, in accordance with product objectives.
The incumbent works closely with the user experience, content, technology and quality assurance teams, as well as with commercial stakeholders, to improve the partner experience and contribute to the continuous growth and adoption of Air Canada's NDC ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership, maintain and prioritize the product backlog for the NDC portal and the Agent Reference page, ensuring it aligns with product strategy, the roadmap and business priorities established by the Product Manager.
- Organize discovery and requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders from business units, user experience, content, technology and Operations teams, then translate findings into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and supporting documents.
- Assume responsibility for product backlog grooming activities and ensure requirements are well defined, understood and ready for development.
- Collaborate with user experience designers to define user journeys, review conceptual mockups and prototypes, and leverage available research, analytics and stakeholder feedback to improve the user experience.
- Coordinate content improvements and publishing processes using content management systems.
- Collaborate with developers, technical analysts and Quality Assurance throughout the refinement, development and testing phases, providing clarity on requirements and facilitating timely decision-making regarding implementation.
- Review implemented features in test environments, coordinate business validation and approve the product when requirements and acceptance criteria are met.
- Ensure digital experiences comply with Air Canada standards for accessibility, responsive design, content quality, privacy and security.
- Assess the impacts of product changes on affected systems, processes and teams, and document dependencies, risks and implementation considerations.
- Monitor product performance using analytics, user feedback and operational observations, then make recommendations to support product backlog prioritization and continuous improvement.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the NDC portal and the Agent Reference page, communicating requirements, priorities, release content and implementation updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay abreast of trends and best practices in digital product distribution, user experience, accessibility, content management and airline distribution to contribute to continuous product improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least two years of experience as a Product Owner, in business analysis, digital product implementation or a related field.
- Practical knowledge of user experience principles, user journeys, conceptual mockups, prototypes and usability testing, mandatory.
- Professional proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken, an asset.
- Proven experience using content management systems and digital content publishing processes; experience with Drupal or a comparable enterprise content management platform, a major asset.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements and process documentation.
- Knowledge of Web accessibility principles and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and ability to integrate accessibility requirements into product implementation, a major asset.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Ability to provide clear guidance and communicate effectively with technical or non-technical audiences.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative spirit, customer orientation and ease working in a dynamic and cross-functional environment where priorities constantly evolve.
- Experience with web analytics, user feedback tools or digital performance reporting, an asset.
- Knowledge of NDC technology, airline distribution or the travel industry, an asset.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the team's overall success in a fast-paced environment.
