The Product Owner – Marketing Technology supports the implementation and continuous improvement of customer data management, identity, consent, and activation capabilities across Air Canada’s digital and in-flight channels. Working with the Marketing Technology Products team, they will translate business needs into clear product requirements, maintain delivery priorities, and coordinate with Engineering, Data, Privacy, Marketing, and vendor partners to deliver practical and compliant solutions.
This position contributes to Adobe’s marketing technology ecosystem initiatives, including data collection, customer profiles and target audiences, campaign and customer journey activation, and related platform integrations. The Product Owner works within established product strategy, architecture, and governance, escalating hardware design, risk, and scope decisions as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Implement the agreed strategy, roadmap, and business objectives for the Marketing Technology Products team, reporting to the Products and Technology leadership team.
- Gather, clarify, and document business needs as product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting documents.
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with business stakeholders, Engineering leads, and delivery partners.
- Coordinate product discovery, solution definition, development, testing, release preparation, and post-launch tracking for assigned capabilities.
- Work with Engineering, Data, and Solution Architecture teams to validate how customer data management, identity, consent, and flight or booking context management is performed across connected platforms and activation channels.
- Support the definition and documentation of data mappings, interfaces, identifiers, business rules, latency expectations, and operational dependencies within approved architectural models.
- Collaborate with Privacy, Security, and Data Governance teams to ensure requirements reflect expectations regarding consent, data minimization, access, and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve delivery issues, clarify ownership, and track dependencies, risks, and decisions.
- Coordinate business validation and user acceptance testing; confirm that delivered features meet agreed requirements and quality expectations.
- Monitor product usage, operational performance, stakeholder feedback, and delivery results to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare clear status updates, communications, decision summaries, and product documentation for stakeholders and support teams.
- Stay abreast of relevant Marketing Technology capabilities and industry practices, and propose practical opportunities aligned with the roadmap.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement within the Product and Delivery teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology, engineering, marketing, analytics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least three years of experience in product ownership, product management, business analysis, or digital or data-driven product delivery.
- Experience translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized product backlogs.
- Practical knowledge of modern product management methods, as well as Agile delivery principles, methods, and tools.
- Ability to understand and document data flows, system interactions, integration dependencies, and customer-facing business rules.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to work effectively with business, technical, and vendor teams.
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-centric attitude, pragmatism, reliability, good judgment, and commitment to privacy and quality.
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability to foster overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
Assets
- Experience with Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Campaign Classic, Adobe Target, or other comparable marketing technology platforms.
- Experience with customer data platforms, profile management, target audiences, identity namespaces, segmentation, or destinations.
- Experience with tag management, digital data layers, event taxonomy, or client-side instrumentation.
- Experience with privacy-centric consent management and marketing activation platforms.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses and marketing audience modeling.
- Experience in travel, hospitality, loyalty, e-commerce, or other data-rich customer environments.
- Bilingualism (French and English).
