Technical Recruiter - Defense

The Technical Recruiter, Defense, under the responsibility of the Vice President, Sales & Operations – Defense, is responsible for sourcing, attracting, evaluating, and hiring highly qualified technical and professional talent for defense-related projects in a timely manner and meeting security requirements.

Main responsibilities

• In collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team, lead the complete recruitment cycle for defense and security related projects, in accordance with operational priorities and program schedule;
• Anticipate workforce needs, support tender activities and ensure rapid mobilization of qualified talent;
• Work closely with the AAA Canada recruitment team to harmonize sourcing strategies, employer branding and candidate management processes;
• Develop targeted security and technically specialized sourcing strategies across Canada;
• Conduct structured, competency-based interviews and coordinate technical assessments with defense program managers and technical directors;
• Build and maintain a database of authorized and experienced professionals in the defense field, while proactively mitigating skill shortages;
• Provide market information, compensation benchmarks and recruitment risk assessments to management;
• Monitor key recruitment performance indicators (time-to-fill, quality of hires, ability to obtain security clearance, cost per hire), maintain ATS system accuracy, and regularly report on talent acquisition to management;
• Track key performance indicators (time to hire, cost per hire, offer acceptance rate), maintain ATS data integrity and provide pipeline forecasts and reports to management;
• Participate in recruitment events such as defense-targeted shows and job fairs;
• Proactively participate in team meetings and gatherings;
• Comply with AAA Canada policies, procedures and process;
• Any other related task at the request of their immediate superior.

Prerequisites-Profile

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field;
• 3 to 7 years of recruitment experience in unionized/non-unionized technical environments in the defense sector;
• Strong knowledge of defense industry standards, government procurement environments and regulated hiring processes;
• Excellent understanding of security processes in Canada;
• Knowledge of defense contractors and government procurement environments;
• Proficiency in French and English, oral and written;
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
• Ability to work in a demanding 'project-based' environment subject to tight deadlines;
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
• CRHA/CRIA or CHRP/CHRL (or in progress), an asset;
• Eligible for required security clearances.
