Rheinmetall Canada is currently seeking a technical writer whose primary responsibility will be to support the engineering department by drafting various technical documentation (statements of work, technical specifications, product datasheets, test reports, etc.), technical training materials, and technical publications.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and revise project technical documentation.
  • Assess and determine requirements for each task and produce workload estimates.
  • Coordinate revisions to illustrations.
  • Incorporate changes into documentation as prescribed by data sources.
  • Perform editing and publishing tasks as needed.

Requirements and assets

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing or a diploma in Technical Writing from a reputable institution, or have equivalent work experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in technical writing.
  • Ability to write in English and French.
  • Familiarity with FrameMaker, Arbortext, Oxygen, the Microsoft Office suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of the S1000D standard.
  • Experience with HICO iPS.Suite® software.
  • Experience in translation.
  • Knowledge of documentation and standards in the military or aerospace domain.
