The A220 Commercial Aircraft Program is seeking a Technical Writer to join our Technical Publications team based in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada.

You will be part of the Systems team and will be responsible for reviewing the Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) publication.

The team organization is set up to promote cross-functional collaboration in an autonomous manner, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as a Technical Writer will be to review engineering documentation, perform impact analyses, review revised tasks for approval and incorporate changes.

Your challenges :

  • The main task will be to research, plan, write and revise the Fault Isolation Manual (FIM);
  • Regularly communicate with Engineering to validate troubleshooting procedures before publication;
  • Analyze engineering source documents to determine their impact on the Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) and take the necessary steps to revise them;
  • Analyze and respond to customer requests concerning the publication of the FIM;
  • Identify and implement process and product improvements in accordance with the strategic plan.

Your profile :

  • You hold a college diploma (DEC) in aircraft maintenance or avionics, or in a related field;
  • You have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry;
  • You have strong communication skills (written and oral) in both French and English;
  • You possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
  • You must have a thorough understanding of technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics;
  • You have a detailed understanding of the processes of technical publications and technologies (an asset);
  • You have a basic understanding of S1000D and ATA specifications (an asset);
  • You have a good knowledge of XML authoring language (an asset).
