The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Technical Writer to join our technical publications team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).
You will be part of the Systems team responsible for revising Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP).
Your role as a Technical Writer will be to review engineering documentation, perform impact analysis, review revised tasks for approval, and incorporate changes.
Your challenges:
The main tasks will be to research, plan, write and revise the Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP) relating to mechanical chapters.
Perform quality assurance (QA) of work units (Data Modules - DM) submitted for inclusion in publications;
Perform, validate and incorporate validation comments on aircraft, in accordance with department standards/directives;
Ensure that customer and operator requests and problems are analyzed and processed;
Coordinate and define the Data Module Requirements List (DMRL) of the publication with internal and external suppliers;
Identify and implement process and product improvements in accordance with the strategic plan;
Your profile:
You have a college diploma in aerospace, or the equivalent, combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a writer;
You have mechanical experience and technical knowledge in the field of aviation;
You have strong communication skills (written and spoken);
A good understanding of change factors and aircraft configuration management, as part of the AMP;
You must have good computer skills and the ability to read and understand technical documentation, including technical drawings and related documentation;
Must have a good understanding of ATA 2200 and S1000D specifications;
You have good knowledge of XML writing language;
You are familiar with Google Suite applications (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides) as well as SAP, and you must be able to quickly learn and adopt any new tool or technology;
