The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Technical Writer to join our technical publications team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).

You will be part of the Systems team responsible for the revision of aircraft maintenance publications (Aircraft Maintenance Publication - AMP).

Your role as a Technical Writer will be to review engineering documentation, perform impact analyses, review revised tasks for approval and incorporate changes.

Your challenges:

  • Analyze technical documents such as modification summaries (Modsums), technical drawings, service bulletins, etc. in order to determine their potential impact on the various maintenance publications;

  • Determine the priority of modification summaries based on the aircraft delivery schedule;

  • Create/delegate work orders in technical data tools;

  • Prepare source data for the monthly prioritization of supplier modification summaries;

  • Use Tech Data tools to extract data and track/harmonize their status in order to support department activities;

  • Provide support to suppliers and internal customers, analyze requests and respond to problems encountered by customers at the origin of these requests;

  • Identify and implement processes and product improvements in accordance with the strategic plan;

  • Identify, evaluate and support the definition of action plans and schedules to minimize risks to the completion of publications according to program requirements.

Your profile:

  • You hold a college diploma (DEC) in aerospace or an equivalent field or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of technical publications;

  • You possess a good understanding of change drivers and aircraft configuration management;

  • You demonstrate solid IT skills as well as an ability to read and interpret technical documentation, notably technical drawings;

  • You master the processes and technologies related to technical publications;

  • You have an excellent knowledge of ATA 2200 and S1000D specifications (an asset);

  • You have a good knowledge of SGML and XML authoring languages (an asset);

  • You master the Google suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) as well as SAP and show agility in learning and adopting new technological tools;

  • Experience in customer service and technical support (an asset);

  • You show good judgment, leadership and a strong team spirit;

  • You are customer-oriented;

  • You possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written (French and English).
