Job Description

Do you have experience in mechanical systems, have you worked in the aeronautical industry, and do you want to evolve and develop new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Technical Writer to join our technical publications team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).

You will be part of the Systems team responsible for reviewing Aircraft Maintenance Publications (AMP).

Your role as a Technical Writer will be to review engineering documentation, perform impact analyses, review revised tasks for approval, and incorporate changes.

Your challenges:

  • Analyze technical documents such as modification summaries (Modsums), technical drawings, service bulletins, etc., to determine their potential impact on various maintenance publications;

  • Determine the priority of modification summaries based on aircraft delivery schedules;

  • Create/delegate work orders in technical data tools;

  • Prepare source data for monthly prioritization of supplier modification summaries;

  • Use Tech Data tools to extract data and track/harmonize their status to support departmental activities;

  • Provide support to suppliers and internal customers, analyze requests, and respond to issues encountered by customers originating these requests;

  • Identify and implement process and product improvements in accordance with the strategic plan;

  • Identify, evaluate, and support the definition of action plans and timelines to minimize risks to the completion of publications according to program requirements.

Requirements

Your profile:

  • You hold a college diploma (DEC) in aerospace or an equivalent field, or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in technical publications;

  • You have a good understanding of change factors and aircraft configuration management;

  • You demonstrate strong IT skills as well as an ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including technical drawings;

  • You master processes and technologies related to technical publications;

  • You have excellent knowledge of ATA 2200 and S1000D specifications (an asset);

  • You have good knowledge of SGML and XML writing languages (an asset);

  • You are proficient in the Google suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) as well as SAP and demonstrate agility to learn and adopt new technological tools;

  • Experience in customer service and technical support (an asset);

  • You demonstrate good judgment, leadership, and a strong team spirit;

  • You are customer-oriented;

  • You have excellent communication skills, both oral and written (French and English).
