The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a
Technical Writer - Mechanical Structures
to join our Technical Publications team, in the Customer Services organization, based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada).
You will be part of the Structures team and be responsible for revising the Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP) and Component Maintenance Publication (CMP).
The team is organized in such a way as to promote autonomous cross-functional collaboration, supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as
Technical Writer
will be to review engineering documentation, carry out impact analysis, review revised tasks/create new tasks in Simplified Technical English for the approval and incorporate changes, perform on aircraft validation (OAV) for the tasks associated with AMP (Structures).

Your challenges:
- Research, plan, write and revise the Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP) on all the structural chapters;
- Understand all the engineering documentation which drives the changes to AMP and CMP;
- Write and revise the maintenance procedures by understanding the scope of the engineering changes;
- Perform Quality Assurance (QA) of Data Module’s (DM) submitted by our suppliers for inclusion in the publications;
- Perform On Aircraft Validation (OAV) of the new AMP tasks and determine the timing required to perform each task;
- Perform, validate and incorporate on-aircraft validation comments per departmental standards/guidelines;
- Conduct reviews of engineering documentation for inclusion into the publications;
- Ensure customer and operator requests are analyzed, coordinate with the Customer Response Center (CRC), engineering team and respond to the initiator;
- Coordinate, define and maintain publication Data Module Requirements List (DMRL) with internal and external suppliers;
- Identify and implement processes for product improvements in line with the strategic plan;
- Identify, evaluate and support definition of action plans and schedules to minimize risks to completion of the publications according to the program requirements;
- Coordinate with our suppliers and stakeholders for ensuring the AMP tasks are up-to date in line with the released engineering.
Your profile:
- You have a college degree in aircraft maintenance;
- You have at least five (5) years of experience in aviation (as a technician, methods agent or as a technical writer);
- You have a strong knowledge of aircraft structure/system;
- You have a good understanding of the engineering change drivers and Aircraft Configuration Management applicable to the AMP;
- You are proficient with CATIA, S1000D, SAP and the Google suite;
- You have good computer skills and the ability to read and understand engineering documentation including the engineering drawings;
- You are able to quickly learn and adopt any new tools and technologies as per the job requirements;
- You are a committed team player, responsible, a good communicator and an effective negotiator;
- You have an understanding of Technical Publications processes and technologies;
- You have a good knowledge of SGML and XML authoring languages;
- You are able to handle stress and collaborate with other departments to meet deadlines;
- You demonstrate good judgment, leadership and team spirit;
- You are customer oriented and fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
