About the Position
The candidate will be a member of the direct and indirect supply team at Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin). This team manages annual expenditures of tens of millions of dollars across a variety of hardware, software, and services. Working in the interest of many internal and external clients, this position requires the ability to flexibly respond to a wide range of requirements and to keep clients informed of the status of their orders. The nature of our activities leads to periods of increased workload when the number of projects increases and at the end of the financial year.
The candidate will perform a variety of administrative tasks related to purchasing and the supply chain, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Needs analysis
- Management of requests for quotations
- Processing of purchase requests and purchase orders
- Resolution of various invoicing or receiving issues
- Obtaining and classifying related documents, including security ratings, safety ratings, and import-export authorizations.
This position is an 18-month fixed-term contract.
What you bring to the position
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma or two (2) years of professional experience related to supply chain or purchasing
- Ability to self-organize and work with minimal supervision within a small team
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency in information technology and good keyboarding skills.
Additional skills desired for the position
- University degree or college diploma in supply chain management or business
- Proficiency in the Material Management (MM) modules of the Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) software suite or an equivalent Tier 1 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Experience in procurement in a large or medium organization or in the defense industry.
