About the role

The successful candidate will be a member of the team responsible for direct and indirect procurement at Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. This team manages annual expenditures in the tens of millions of dollars across a variety of hardware, software, and services. Working on behalf of many internal and external customers, this role requires the ability to respond flexibly to a wide range of requirements and to keep customers informed of the status of their orders. The nature of our work leads to periods of increased workload when project volumes rise and at the end of the financial year.

The candidate will perform a variety of administrative tasks related to purchasing and the supply chain, including but not limited to:

  • Needs analysis
  • Managing requests for quotations
  • Processing purchase requests and purchase orders
  • Resolving various billing or receiving issues
  • Obtaining and filing related documentation, including security clearances, reliability ratings, and import-export permits

This position is an 18-month fixed-term contract.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma, or two (2) years of related professional experience in supply chain or procurement
  • Ability to self-organize and work with minimal supervision within a small team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with information technology and strong keyboarding skills

Additional desired skills

  • University or college diploma in supply chain management or business
  • Proficiency with Materials Management (MM) modules in SAP or an equivalent level 1 ERP system
  • Procurement experience in a large or medium organization or in the defense industry
