The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an Aircraft Flight Controls Systems Lead to join our Chief Engineering team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada).
You will be part of the Chief Engineering team responsible for carrying full technical authority and responsibility for the aircraft design in compliance with airworthiness regulations, product and passenger safety, environmental protection, aircraft operability, design maturity, security and airport operations requirements.
The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as Aircraft Flight Controls Systems Lead will be to prepare the next generation of the A220 flight controls systems.

Your challenges:
In your role, you will report to the Head of Overall Systems Design within the Chief Engineering organization, and will be assigned to work with cross-functional teams to oversee system developments, and more specifically the next generation of Flight Controls Systems:
Own the end-to-end technical roadmap for the A220 integrated flight control;
Validate and authorize the next generation of flight control architecture to ensure compliance with stringent product requirements (TPR) and business objectives (TPO);
Be the voice of A220 towards the Airbus integrated flight control system Product Line;
Steer the technical activities from the earliest requirement phases (Pre-MG3) through to post-Entry-Into-Service (EIS) corrections and chair Maturity Gate (MG) technical feeders accordingly;
By chairing technical governance, ensure multidisciplinary harmonization and technical alignment for successful integration of the next generation flight control system architecture with the various aircraft systems;
Arbitrate trade studies and pivot strategies to maintain the program’s critical path without compromising safety;
Authorize the V&V strategies and plans at aircraft level that ensure the flight control system meets maturity objectives and safety;
Approve Safety Of Flight (SOF), RSI for ground and flight test, and Request for Test (RFT) for flight test.
Your boarding pass:
You have a Bachelor or Master University degree in Engineering or equivalent field;
You have 15 years or more experience in aerospace Flight Controls Systems design or integration;
In-depth knowledge of primary and secondary flight control laws;
Proven track record of taking a major aircraft system through a full certification TC (Type Certificate) or major amendment;
Ability to lead transverse technical and cross-functional teams and to challenge technical solutions;
Capability to present solutions and plans to senior management;
Awareness of systems development process, interactions with airframe design and technical disciplines, and airworthiness compliance process.
This role may involve some travels for business (worldwide).
