Main responsibilities
- Create, modify and execute computer programs to perform aeroelasticity calculations.
- Participate in tests to support new developments, production, and resolution of in-service problems.
- Analyze test data, correlate finite element models (MEF/FEM) to perform analyses, interpret results and propose engineering solutions.
- Produce official technical documentation to communicate results and satisfy the requirements of certification authorities as well as the needs of internal clients.
Job requirements
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree and have 3 to 5 years of experience in structural dynamics, load calculation or vibrations.
- You have working knowledge of Nastran SOL [101, 103, 111, 144, 145] software and are familiar with DMAP modifications (DMAP alters).
- You have a good understanding of the finite element method (FEM), frequency analyses and unsteady aerodynamics.
- You are familiar with industry standards, certification requirements and applicable guides.
- You are a team player with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and good judgment, capable of working under pressure.
- You have excellent organizational and analytical skills and are interested in process improvement, knowledge capitalization and sharing within the team.
- You have good writing and communication skills. Excellent technical writing skills in English are an asset.
- You have programming experience with MATLAB, Fortran, C/C++ as well as scripting under Linux and Windows.
- You have intermediate to advanced knowledge in technical documentation using commercial software such as Microsoft Office suite or Google Workspace (GSuite).
- You have an understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition systems (asset).
- You are or have been a Design Approval Designee in the field of dynamics, which is a major asset.
