Main Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and execute computer programs to perform aeroelasticity calculations.
  • Participate in testing to support new developments, production, and in-service troubleshooting.
  • Analyze test data, correlate finite element models (FEM) to perform analyses, interpret results, and propose engineering solutions.
  • Produce official technical documentation to communicate results and meet the requirements of certification authorities as well as the needs of internal clients.

Job Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree and have 3 to 5 years of experience in structural dynamics, loads analysis, or vibrations.
  • You have practical knowledge of the Nastran SOL [101, 103, 111, 144, 145] software and are familiar with DMAP modifications (DMAP alters).
  • You possess a good understanding of the finite element method (FEM), frequency-domain analyses, and unsteady aerodynamics.
  • You know industry standards, certification requirements, and applicable guides.
  • You are a team player with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility, and good judgment, capable of working under pressure.
  • You possess excellent organizational and analytical skills and are interested in process improvement, knowledge capitalization, and sharing within the team.
  • You have good writing and communication skills. Excellent mastery of technical writing in English is an asset.
  • You have programming experience with MATLAB, Fortran, C/C++ as well as scripting under Linux and Windows.
  • You possess intermediate to advanced knowledge in technical documentation using commercial software such as the Microsoft Office suite or Google Workspace (GSuite).
  • You have an understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition systems (an asset).
  • You are or have been a Design Approval Designee in the field of dynamics, which is a major asset.
