As a member of the product engineering team, the candidate will participate directly in the design and development of product solutions that enable Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. to maintain a strong position in the naval market. As the hardware systems lead responsible for the hardware architecture of our Combat Management System (CMS) for international programs, this role involves designing CMS products that meet customer requirements, building supplier relationships, assessing the suitability of potential equipment, and supporting system hardware development from prototyping through end of life.
The candidate must be able to lead project coordination, cost accounting, work estimation, and team execution using Agile product design methods. The candidate will also lead the team in proposing improvements, conducting risk analyses, and supporting design reviews to optimize system and hardware design.
Responsibilities
- Analytical account management
- Project planning and tracking execution
- Development of estimating bases
- Requirements analysis, derivation, reconciliation and traceability for an integrated system including hardware and software designs
- Produce and/or review design artifacts for systems and hardware products
- Produce and/or review white papers and market studies for systems and hardware products
- Coordinate activities with procurement and liaise with suppliers to identify appropriate products that meet system requirements
- Create, produce and maintain a detailed bill of materials (BOM) to assist equipment definition
- Support design and demonstrate that selected hardware solutions meet required performance and cyber‑accreditation criteria (including operational environment, network, compute, storage, interfaces, protections, data and network security, storage architecture, middleware, compute utilization, configuration and system management, measurements and optimization of technical performance, etc.)
- Review market-offered technologies and industry/technology trends, including cost-benefit studies and prototype demonstrations; define technology selection criteria and lead cost-benefit analyses
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with a minimum of nine years of professional experience in the field, or a minimum of seven years of professional experience with a master's degree in a related field
- Ability to communicate effectively (in French and English) with technical and non-technical engineering and management staff, as well as related stakeholders
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Project management experience and use of planning tools such as MS Project
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Good knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Ability to solve complex problems within a team
- High degree of initiative and autonomy
- Strong ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
Additional desired skills
- Experience leading product development with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Knowledge of hardware lifecycle needs management from design through procurement and obsolescence
- Certified Product Owner
- Certified Scrum Master
- Good knowledge of DOORS, CAMEO, Jira, Windchill and Confluence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Good knowledge of configuration management processes
Language requirements
Knowledge of English is required for this role so the candidate can perform all duties. The position requires daily communication with a virtual team outside Quebec and with organization members, clients and suppliers located outside Canada. For engineering roles, the candidate must also be able to read, modify and prepare technical documents in English.

Salary range
$119,000 - $156,000

Controlled Goods Program. Required security clearance: NATO Secret.
