Position Summary
The Programmes & Products Flight Controls and Autopilot (FCA) segment management is responsible for executing the design, development, series production and support activities of its projects and programs in the areas of urban mobility, business and commercial aviation. FCA solutions include electric flight control systems as well as autopilots.
With around twenty Proposal and Project Managers (PMs) and Integrated Project Team Leaders who are skilled and experienced, FCA aims for excellence in project execution and seeks to achieve an efficiency and competitiveness level that will outperform competitors. Customer satisfaction is central to its mission to deliver profitable growth. The Proposal and Project Manager reports to the Segment Director. The position is located in Montreal, Quebec (Canada), and requires proficiency in English since clients are international.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, production and support activities related to assigned projects to deliver quality products and services to customers within budget and schedule constraints.
- Manage internal processes and prepare bids for products and services in response to customer requests, coordinating strategic, programmatic, technical and commercial elements.
- Lead and coordinate internal teams (logistics managers, package managers, etc.) and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, subcontractors, partners), involving different departments such as business development and finance.
- Ensure requirements, schedules and financial aspects are controlled throughout the project lifecycle.
- Be accountable for project quality and overall customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Manage legal and contractual obligations and control disputes.
- Occasional international travel (1–2 times/year).
Minimum Requirements
Proven experience of 7 years in an environment developing aeronautical solutions, including at least 3 years in project management in a moderately critical context.
Skills and Abilities:
- Academic training in engineering or business.
- Proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken.
- Experience in negotiation and customer relations.
- Autonomy, leadership and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
- Strong planning, organization and anticipation skills.
This role requires a good command of English to interact with, support and/or provide services to international customers, employees and/or partners and to foreign government authorities who do not speak French.
Education Level:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of airworthiness rules applicable to the civil domain, notably FAA and TCCA regulations, and of civil aviation development processes (AS 9100).
- Certification in continuous improvement (Six Sigma, etc.).
- PMP or IPMA certification.
