Montreal, QC (Hybrid) — Full time

Position summary

The Flight Controls and Autopilot (FCA) Programs & Products segment is responsible for the design, development, series production and support activities of its projects and programs in urban mobility, business and commercial aviation. FCA solutions include electric flight control systems and autopilots.

The Proposal and Project Manager reports to the Segment Director. The position is located in Montreal, Quebec (Canada) and requires proficiency in English as customers are international.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, production and support activities related to assigned projects to deliver quality services and products to customers within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Lead the internal process and prepare product and service proposals in response to client tenders, coordinating strategic, programmatic, technical and commercial elements.
  • Lead and coordinate internal teams (logistics managers, package leaders, etc.) and external stakeholders (customer, suppliers, subcontractors, partners), involving various functions such as business development and finance.
  • Manage requirements, schedules and financial aspects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Responsible for project quality and overall client and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Manage legal and contractual obligations and handle disputes.
  • Occasional international travel (1–2 times/year).

Minimum requirements

At least 7 years of experience in an aeronautical solutions development environment, including at least 3 years in project management in a moderately critical context.

Skills and competencies:

  • Academic background in engineering or business.
  • Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in negotiation and client relations.
  • Autonomy, leadership and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Strong planning, organization and anticipation skills.

This position requires a good command of English to interact with, support and/or provide services to international clients, employees and/or partners, as well as foreign government authorities who may not speak French.

Education level:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of civil airworthiness regulations, notably FAA and TCCA rules, and civil aviation development processes (AS 9100).
  • Continuous improvement certification (Six Sigma, etc.).
  • PMP or IPMA certification.
