Job description
In collaboration with the Growth Marketing, Revenue Management and Commercial teams, the marketing planning manager leads marketing planning for points of sale in Canada. The role aims to ensure alignment of marketing plans with business performance, demand trends and commercial priorities, while maximizing the impact of marketing investments across routes, products and business lines.
Responsibilities:
- Lead annual, quarterly and monthly marketing planning by aligning commercial priorities, demand trends and market dynamics into clear, actionable marketing plans.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management and Commercial teams to understand demand gaps, route and package priorities, and translate them into opportunities where marketing can generate impact (e.g., stimulate demand, support strategic routes).
- Establish a strong planning cadence with Revenue Management to track performance, align priorities and link business needs to marketing levers, including identifying trade-offs between competing initiatives.
- Manage the integrated marketing calendar and promotional strategy, ensuring clear visibility of campaigns, priorities, timing and level of support while balancing business needs and marketing capacity.
- Define promotional strategies and campaign direction, including business cases, offers, expected outcomes and success indicators.
- Lead annual and monthly marketing investment planning by prioritizing initiatives based on business inputs, performance analyses and expected business impact.
- Collaborate with Analytics and Media teams to integrate performance learnings and translate priorities into effective channel and media plans.
- Develop strategic campaign briefs and ensure a smooth handover from planning to execution across teams.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships (Brand, Product, Loyalty, Media, CRM, Analytics, etc.) and support decision-making with clear, data-driven recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing planning, growth marketing, business strategy or a similar role.
- Excellent strategic thinking and commercial understanding, with the ability to link business priorities to marketing opportunities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance trends and translate insights into concrete recommendations.
- Experience developing marketing plans, promotional strategies and campaign briefs.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with Commercial, Revenue Management, Media or Analytics teams.
- Excellent influencing skills and stakeholder management.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and arbitrate between competing business needs.
- Experience in travel, tourism, aviation, retail or other demand-driven industries is an asset.
- Knowledge of campaign performance measurement or marketing effectiveness concepts is an asset.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and comfortable with collaborative tools and AI tools (e.g., Copilot).
- Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written*
*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Québec. The role holder will need to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients and partners across Canada and internationally.
