About Pratt & Whitney Canada
Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) is a global leader in aerospace innovation, headquartered in Longueuil, Quebec. We design and manufacture next-generation aircraft engines that power business, general aviation and regional aircraft and helicopters worldwide.
Why join our team?
We are seeking an experienced, technically proactive and highly cross-functional Advanced Industrialisation Lead to define sourcing and manufacturing strategies and delivery of new sustainable components (parts & modules), engine Assembly and Testing (A&T), and to support MRL readiness activities. You will help ensure industrial maturity of future programs by ensuring P&WC supply base, partners, manufacturing and A&T sites are capable, competitive, digitally enabled and aligned with program timelines and technical requirements.
The position is based at our Longueuil location, Monday to Friday with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
Sourcing & Manufacturing Strategy
- Lead sourcing and manufacturing activities for engine components, modules, assembly, testing, and tooling systems supporting new engine programs.
- Define make, buy, or partner strategies for new components based on technical, operational and industrial requirements.
- Identify, assess and develop suppliers, partners and advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., precision casting, superalloy machining, coatings, additive manufacturing).
- Develop dual- and multi-sourcing strategies and collaborate on risk mitigation plans to ensure supply chain resilience.
Strategic Negotiations & Partnerships
- Lead negotiations of long-term agreements in support of future production awards.
- Negotiate product pricing, non-recurring costs, development schedules, repair and overhaul agreements, tooling, and contractual terms and conditions.
- Partner with internal teams to develop risk-sharing models for industrial development projects.
Industrial Readiness & Manufacturing Optimization
- Engage suppliers, partners and internal sites early in development to optimize design, manufacturability, assembly, testing and cost (DfC, DFM, DFA).
- Establish and monitor Factory Standard Costs (FSC) with Engineering and Cost Control teams and identify opportunities to improve program margins.
- Monitor industrial validation milestones, including FAI, PPAP and other production readiness activities.
- Ensure suppliers, partners and sites have Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) plans, capacity and capabilities to support program milestones and ramp-up.
- Identify capital investment (CapEx) needs for tooling, special processes, testing infrastructure and new technologies and support business case development.
- Support TRL and MRL assessments for new technologies.
Program Governance & Production Readiness
- Collaborate with Advanced Industrialization leadership, Operations Program Excellence (OPE), Industrial Engineering and Program teams to plan and execute RLPM gate deliverables and production readiness activities.
- Ensure production plans and operational readiness activities remain aligned with program schedules and objectives.
Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Assembly & Test, Aftermarket and Program Management teams within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support development and industrialization of new components and engines.
- Serve as the primary Advanced Industrialization point of contact for suppliers, partners and internal sites.
- Coordinate program requirements, schedules, deliverables and expectations across stakeholders to ensure successful program execution.
Frequent travel and variable work schedules are expected to support suppliers, partners and internal manufacturing and A&T sites.
