About Pratt & Whitney Canada

Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) is a global leader in aerospace innovation, proudly headquartered in Longueuil, Quebec. We design and manufacture next-generation aircraft engines that power the world's largest fleet of business, general aviation, and regional aircraft and helicopters. Our engines support missions that matter, from transporting people and essential goods to enabling emergency medical services, humanitarian operations, and wildfire suppression.

Why join our team?

We are seeking an experienced and technically proactive Advanced Industrialisation Lead to define sourcing and manufacturing strategies and deliver new sustainable components (parts & modules), engine Assembly and Test (A&T) and to support MRL readiness activities. This role requires a strategic, risk-based mindset and the ability to operate across global supply chains and sites in a highly regulated, high-performance environment.

What will your day-to-day look like?

Sourcing & Manufacturing Strategy
  • Lead sourcing and manufacturing activities for engine components, modules, assembly, testing, and tooling systems supporting new engine programs.
  • Define make, buy, or partner strategies for new components based on technical, operational, and industrial requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and develop suppliers, partners, and advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., precision casting, superalloy machining, coatings, additive manufacturing).
  • Develop dual- and multi-sourcing strategies and collaborate on risk mitigation plans to ensure supply chain resilience.
Strategic Negotiations & Partnerships
  • Lead negotiations of long-term agreements in support of future production awards.
  • Negotiate product pricing, non-recurring costs, development schedules, repair and overhaul agreements, tooling, and contractual terms and conditions.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop risk-sharing models for industrial development projects.
Industrial Readiness & Manufacturing Optimization
  • Engage suppliers, partners, and internal sites early in the product development cycle to optimize design, manufacturability, assembly, testing, and overall product cost (DfC, DFM, DFA).
  • Establish and monitor Factory Standard Costs (FSC) with Engineering and Cost Control teams and identify opportunities to improve program margins.
  • Monitor industrial validation milestones, including FAI, PPAP, and other production readiness activities.
  • Ensure suppliers, partners, and sites have Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) plans, capacity, and capabilities to support milestones and production ramp-up.
  • Identify capital investment (CapEx) requirements for tooling, special processes, testing infrastructure, and new technologies, and support business case development.
  • Support Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments for new technologies.
Program Governance & Production Readiness
  • Collaborate with Advanced Industrialization leadership, Operations Program Excellence (OPE), Industrial Engineering, and Program teams to plan and execute RLPM gate deliverables and production readiness activities.
  • Ensure production plans and operational readiness activities remain aligned with program schedules and objectives.
Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Assembly & Test, Aftermarket, and Program Management teams within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support development and industrialization of new components and engines.
  • Serve as the primary Advanced Industrialization point of contact for suppliers, partners, and internal sites.
  • Coordinate program requirements, schedules, deliverables, and expectations across all stakeholders to ensure successful program execution.

Frequent travel and variable work schedules are expected when working with suppliers, partners, or internal manufacturing and A&T sites.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or supply chain engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, aerospace engine component manufacturing, industrialisation, or similar high-specification industries.
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes (casting, machining, coatings, additive manufacturing) and aerospace materials (Inconel, titanium alloys, ceramic coatings, composites).
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration, risk assessment, problem solving, and project management (technical planning, cost control, risk mitigation).
  • Ability to influence complex, multi-site projects and act as an agent of change and transformation.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), sourcing tools, and supplier/partner performance tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with aerospace engine programs (civil or military).
  • Demonstrated experience managing and influencing complex multi-site projects.
  • Familiarity with TRL/MRL frameworks, industrial maturity models, and risk assessment approaches.
  • Familiarity with automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 concepts.
  • Experience with digital tools such as CAD/CAM (CATIA), PLM systems (Teamcenter), digital manufacturing platforms, and data analytics tools.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP certification is a plus.

What do we offer?

  • Pension and savings plan with employer contributions
  • Group insurance program
  • Opportunities for advancement (career progression)
  • Merit or recognition program
  • Health and wellness program, including virtual health care
  • Recreational and sports club
