The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Senior Engineering Business Management Leader to join our Engineering Services team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).
You will be part of the team responsible for managing engineering capacity, performance, strategy, and competency development. The team is organized to promote cross-functional collaboration in an autonomous manner, supporting one another and learning collectively.
As the Senior Lead, Engineering Business Management, you act as the strategic architect and process owner for the A220 Engineering perimeter, orchestrating transnational alignment across budget, workforce, and performance. You serve as a key business partner to the Leadership Team, transforming complex data from multiple programs into actionable strategies for cost optimization and footprint efficiency. By bridging the gap between technical engineering needs and corporate functions like Finance, HR, and Procurement, you ensure the organization remains lean, compliant, and ready for future development milestones.

Your challenges:
- Act as the accountable lead for the definition, integration, and performance of all business management processes (Budget, Workload/Workforce, Performance, Risk & Opportunity, Competency Management) with a focus on transnational alignment;
- Serve as the Budget Owner for the Engineering Competence Centre, analyzing and determining strategies to ensure Engineering delivers per the Annual Operating Plan (AOP);
- Provide the Leadership Team with critical budget landing point anticipations and high-stakes strategic recommendations;
- Deploy coherent strategies to optimize the global engineering footprint and ensure resource efficiency across international borders;
- Guarantee that Engineering delivers world-class services by leveraging predictive analytics and real-time decision-making tools;
- Act as the Competency Owner for business management practices, upskilling the team and coaching the Engineering Leadership Team on advanced business steering principles;
- Architect the subcontracting roadmap for the Engineering Competence Centre and procurement strategies in close coordination with Airbus global teams;
- Achieve full integration of business processes by harmonizing technical needs with Finance, HR, and Procurement policies across different nations and programs;
- Optimize budget utilization within Engineering by providing proactive recommendations to prevent overruns and maximize value;
- Enable the Engineering Leadership Team to take timely, data-backed actions through high-fidelity anticipation of risks and opportunities;
- Ensure that competency management is a strategic tool that prepares the workforce for future program phases.
Your profile:
- 12 to 15 years and more of experience in aerospace engineering or business management, with proven experience in managing a large-scale budget perimeter;
- A leader recognized for their ability to bridge the gap between strategic vision and operational reality through the design of robust and efficient structures;
- Experience in transnational or multi-site organizations with complex stakeholder interfaces;
- Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business Administration; an MBA or PMP certification is highly desirable;
- Proven ability to challenge management and align with it across different cultures and functions;
- Mastery of creating a "Single Source of Truth" using advanced analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Qlik, SAP);
- Fully bilingual (French and English) with the global mindset necessary to influence local and international networks;
- Creative problem-solving capacity, demonstrating sound judgment in high-pressure and high-visibility situations.
Travel required: < 5% domestic and international travel.
Due to the sector of activity (aerospace), multiple contacts with Airbus entities located worldwide, and interactions with suppliers and clients also located worldwide, knowledge of English is required for this position.
