What you need to succeed
DEP in welding
Knowledge of TIG and MIG methods
This position is in a French-speaking environment; however, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may originate from international organizations

What will your daily life look like?
Weld based on drawings, sketches, numerical control machine programs, manufacturing processes, specifications, and other verbal and written instructions.
Adjust, set, and operate manual, semi-automatic, or numerical control equipment, as well as resistance and electron beam welding machines.
Use methods such as TIG, MIG, spot, and continuous or discontinuous beads.
Select electrodes and welding wire rolls in accordance with material identifications and make adjustments.
Adjust inert gas flow and temporary screen.
Adjust power according to desired weld and make necessary precision adjustments.
Enter necessary data for numerical control.
Install determined fixtures and fastening devices.
Ensure proper alignment and concentricity of assembly.
Participate in program design.
Prepare the weld, load, position, fix parts on the assembly, plate, or positioner, and adjust the spacing.
Weld and apply adequate methods to obtain desired penetration, cut, and appearance, in addition to preventing warping or distortion. Remove excess expulsion.
Perform dimensional and visual checks on parts during the manufacturing process as indicated or required using different types of precision measuring instruments and verification gauges or a penetrating liquid jet to aid verification.
Maintain appropriate records of different parameters to establish efficient operations with statistical process control.
Work from instructions or arrangements to perform part reworks.
Design or modify tools and fastening devices and adapt appropriate assemblies.
Maintain necessary welding accreditations according to joint forms, material types, and thickness.
May be required to simultaneously operate several nearby machines.
