Responsibilities

• Reporting to the foreman, you will arc weld, mark, cut, shape, and assemble parts according to plans and specifications;
• You will adjust and maintain your equipment, replace electrode wires, apply joints, and work with templates and jigs to ensure flawless execution.
• You will validate airtightness, operate profiling machines, ensure the assembly, alignment, and straightening of components, then deliver straight, solid structures compliant with quality and OHS standards.

Skills and Qualifications

• DEP in welding-assembly OR;
• Experience in welding
• CWB 4-position, FCAW-M (CSA W47.1-M) Marine cards
• Reliability status

Additional info:

A CWB FCAW-M (Marine) competence card (according to CSA W47.1-M standard) for all 4 positions qualifies a welder to perform flux-cored arc welding with gas shielding (Flux-Core) in all orientations: flat (1F/1G), horizontal (2F/2G), vertical (3F/3G), and overhead (4F/4G).

• Day: 4-day x 10-hour week
• Evening: 4-day x 10-hour week
• Weekend: 3-day x 12-hour week (paid 40 hours)

Specific Safety Conditions (Government Requirement)

Due to the nature of federal and military contracts performed at the shipyard, the selected candidate must:

• Be eligible to obtain a security clearance from the Government of Canada's Contract Security Program (CSP).
• Have a history of continuous residency in Canada (generally the last 5 years).

You must be available for all shifts. Although we consider your schedule preferences (day, evening, weekend) when creating schedules, these cannot be guaranteed.
