Responsibilities
- Reporting to the foreman, you weld with an arc, trace, cut, shape, and assemble parts according to drawings and specifications;
- You adjust and maintain your equipment, replace electrode wires, set joints, and work with patterns and jigs to ensure flawless execution.
- You validate tightness, operate profiling machines, ensure the assembly, alignment, and straightening of components, and deliver straight, solid structures compliant with quality and OHS standards.
Competencies and qualifications
- DEP in welding-fitting OR;
- Welding experience
- CWB 4-position cards, FCAW-M (CSA W47.1-M) Marine
- Reliability status

A CWB FCAW-M (Marine) competency card (according to the CSA W47.1-M standard) for 4 positions qualifies a welder to perform shielded metal arc welding work with flux-cored wire in all orientations: flat (1F/1G), horizontal (2F/2G), vertical (3F/3G), and overhead (4F/4G).
- Day: 4 days x 10 hours week
- Evening: 4 days x 10 hours week
- Weekend: 3 days x 12 hours week (paid 40 hours)
Specific safety conditions (Government requirement)
Due to the nature of federal and military contracts executed at the shipyard, the selected candidate must:
- Be eligible to obtain a security clearance from the Government of Canada's Contract Security Program (CSP).
- Hold a history of continuous residence in Canada (generally the last 5 years).
You must be available for all shifts. Although we take your schedule preferences (day, evening, weekend) into account when creating schedules, these cannot be guaranteed.
